Peek to Peek Highway

We are so lucky to live in Colorado. There are very few places in the world where one can spontaneously decide to take a drive in the mountains for a day trip. Wanting to try a new route, we decided to take the “Peak to Peak” highway up to Estes Park. What a name for a highway and what a trip it was! The weather cooperated, and the views were spectacular (but then we live in Colorado, of course the weather cooperated). Here are some of the photos captured from that trip:

Along the route of Peak to Peak Highway, somewhere between Nederland and Calvary Chapel, we stopped at a scenic area. After we took in the beautiful views of the valley and mountains and were about to leave, this young lone rider pulled up on his motorcycle for a break. I asked him if he wanted to be included in a photo. He agreed and even gave me his email address for a copy; however, his email address was inadvertently deleted from the note application on my iPhone. 😦
